Tsukino Kitan TAIKYOKU DENKI -KINRAN NO KEI- (月野奇譚 太極伝奇 -金蘭之契- lit. Mysterious Story of the Moon TAIJI LEGENDS -PLEDGE OF FRIENDSHIP-) was a scheduled 2022 stage play featuring Six Gravity, Procellarum, SOARA, Growth, SolidS, & QUELL.

Overview[]

The second stage play episode in the TSUKIPRO STAGE series. The 2.5D stage play was first announced in March, 2022, at the conclusion of the final performance of ALIVESTAGE's sixth episode, Gift.

The play was scheduled to run at Theatre G Rosso in Tokyo from September 3rd to September 11th in 2022 for an unknown number of shows. As with the previous episode in PROSTA, several characters from the different units were to be absent; presumably due to unavoidable scheduling conflicts due to the size of the cast.

This was to be the first stage play to feature the TAIKYOKU DENKI setting for the members of ALIVE & SQ. The setting was previously used for the tenth TSUKISTA stage, Tsukiuta Kitan TAIKYOKU DENKI. It is currently unknown if this new episode will serve as a sequel to the TSUKISTA play, or if it will be a separate story set in the same theme.

On July 1, 2022, it was announced that due to a variety of unforeseen circumstances the play would have to be cancelled. It is currently unknown if the episode will be rescheduled for a later date at some point.

Translation Notes[]

Taikyoku and denki are the Japanese terms for taiji and chuanqi respectively.

Taiji is a concept from Chinese philosophy, with ties to both spirituality and martial arts. The term itself is used to mean a state of infinite potential and oneness within duality, and is where the concept of yin and yang originates. Due to taiji being a set term for a spiritual concept, it does not have a direct English translation as most English speakers will instead use taiji as a loan word, provided they are familiar with the original concept.

Chuanqi, on the other hand, is a form of classical Chinese literature; short stories that usually focused on legends or supernatural/mythical events. Unlike taiji, chuanqi can be directly translated from Chinese to Japanese to English (chuanqi > denki > legend). However, depending on a translators preferences the translated title for the play could instead be given as "Mysterious Story of the Moon TAIJI CHUANQI -PLEDGE OF FRIENDSHIP-" to be more faithful to the Chinese theme of the play.
