Soshi Kagurazaka (神楽坂 宗司 Kagurazaka Soushi) is an idol under TSUKINO TALENT PRODUCTION. He is a member of the unit SOARA where he performs the drums.

Appearance

Soshi is a tall young man, with dark brown hair and slightly lighter brown eyes. He also has a small mole just below his bottom lip.

Unlike the other members of SOARA, his overall appearance changed relatively little for the live movie adaptations; though his hair color is slightly more natural looking in the movies compared to his appearance in ALIVESTAGE.

Personality

Soshi is generally one of the quieter members of SOARA, being considered quite cool and stoic by others. Underneath this calm exterior though he's just as hardworking and passionate about his work as his friends and bandmates.

His 'tall, dark, and handsome' image combined with this cool and quiet seeming personality means that he's often quite popular with girls, much to Sora's jealousy. His recent good looks combined with his mature personality have led to an increase in female fans lately, though he appears to be relatively humble about it all and is grateful to his fans. Soshi says it hasn't really affected him and he's just going about things at his own usual pace. When asked how many love letters he's gotten he said "it's a secret", but he always makes sure to thank them.

He's shown to be quite stubborn sometimes though, being the least likely to go along with Sora's antics depending on the situation. Despite this though, after a bit of grumbling and scolding he'll usually end up giving in and playing along with the groups plans anyway.

Despite his relatively cool seeming personality, it's not that difficult to embarrass him. This was evident when he was teased by Tsubasa Okui in the TSUKINO HYAKKIYAKOU universe, he instantly became visibly flustered and reacted quite violently to hide his embarrassment.

According to Sora, he is a terrible liar.

History

Soshi was previously a successful member of the basketball club at school, however his athletic career was cut short by an injury to his right shoulder/arm. He was eventually brought out of his negative thoughts by Sora Ohara, who managed to cheer him up despite crying about the situation himself.

Conversely, when Sora was depressed over being labelled a one hit wonder for his music Soshi was one of the people to bring him out of his negative thoughts.

At some point in time, he also picked up some experience with playing the drums which is what eventually led him to becoming the drummer in Sora's band for the graduation performance.

Relationships

SOARA

Sora Ohara - Sora and Soshi are childhood friends. It was Soshi who helped Sora get over his depression after being shunned for his music. Soshi, together with Mori, often act as Sora's moderators when the other gets too out of line. Since Soshi, Sora, and Mori are classmates, they're often always found together. It's Soshi who almost always wakes up Sora when the latter sleeps in class, reminding him of whether it's lunch time or if it's dismissal time.

Soshi is a reasonable person and thus he doesn't really go along with Sora's ideas quickly since Sora begged him to audition with the rest of them. He and Sora go to the same university. The both of them like to spoil (and make fun of) their kohai (juniors) a lot.

Since they've known each other since childhood, they were if their was anything different about him and Sora now compared to back then. Sora said that Soshi is still the one he somehow always manages to get along with, but that Soshi has become good-looking (and good looking people irritate him).

He and Sora are on a first-name basis.

Morihito Arihara - Due to being the two most mature members of the band he and Soshi tend to watch over the other three, though Soshi still sometimes gets caught up in their passion too. The two often have tea together.

Growth

Kensuke Yaegashi - Kensuke has talked about wanting to be friends with Soshi. In the anime, it's shown that they are on pretty friendly terms with each other and have even led a live broadcast show together, with him and Soshi being the main hosts of said event.

Etymology

• The kanji of his surname (神) means "gods, mind, soul", the second kanji (楽) "music, comfort, ease" and the last (坂) "hill".
• Soshi's name is made up of the kanji (宗) "religion, denomination" and (司) "director, officer".

• He and Ren Munakata share a kanji in their names (宗).
