LET IT BE -Kimi ga Kimi Rashiku Aru You ni- (LET IT BE -君が君らしくあるように- lit. LET IT BE -You Exist to Be You-) is a 2019 live action movie about the formation of SOARA.

Overview[]

The first movie produced in the TSUKIPRO series was first announced in 2018 at AGF but few details were released at that time; since then it was revealed to cover the bands formation in high school, previously covered in the drama tracks on ALIVE Side:S Vol.1 and briefly in TSUKIPRO THE ANIMATION.

The movie premiered with a limited run at the HUMAX cinema in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, starting from October 4th, 2019 until November 14th; originally it was only scheduled for two weeks but due to its popularity was extended initially by one week, before being extended further. Tickets were available through select Animate stores as well as the Ikebukuro HUMAX cinema.

The film also aired at Cinem@rt Shinsaibashi in Osaka from October 15th until the 24th, and Fushimi Million Theatre in Nagoya from October 11th until the 17th.

The movie received a home video release on February 28th, 2020, with both a regular (LET IT BE -Kimi ga Kimi Rashiku Aru You ni- Tsujou-ban) and limited edition (LET IT BE -Kimi ga Kimi Rashiku Aru You ni- Gentei-ban). The two soundtrack CDs for the film, LET IT BE & ALIVE THE MOVIE SONG COLLECTION -Sā、 Ongaku o Hajimeyou!-, were both released on October 4th, 2019, and feature songs from the movie performed by Akira Takizawa & the films cast.

Several key scenes from the movie were later adapted in one of the episodes of TSUKIPRO THE ANIMATION 2, also titled LET IT BE. After the episode finished airing it was announced via Twitter that LET IT BE -Kimi ga Kimi Rashiku Aru You ni- would be receiving a direct sequel live action movie, titled I will. -Kimi ga Mirai o Aruku Toki-, to be released in October, 2021.

Trivia[]

  • Chiharu Sawashiro, the actor for Nozomu, is not only his movie and stageplay actor but also his regular seiyuu (being the only character so far to be played by the same person across all media).
    • Chiharu is not the only seiyuu to feature in the movie however, with Takuya Eguchi (the voice of Shiki Takamura) and Toki Shunichi (the voice of Koki Eto) making cameos in the film, playing the TSUKINO TEI master and a newscaster respectively.
  • Similar to most other anime related live action movies, several of the characters have had their hair colors slightly changed, presumably due to the fact their normal color is too unusual for a realistic Japanese setting.
    • Sora's hair was changed from bright red to a reddish brown (like in the anime), Mori's was changed from dirty blonde to light brown, & Ren's from silvery gray to dark brown.
  • The movie takes place in February of 2015 (shown on a calendar in the music room), in keeping with the general timeline of the TSUKIPRO universe. Specifically, the send-off concert appears to take place on February 28, 2015.
