２P lockout

２P lockout (ツーピーロックアウト Tsūpii rokkuauto) was TSUKINO PRODUCTION's theme for their 2020 event, TSUKIPRO Sohonten.

Overview[]

The new setting was announced by TSUKINO PRODUCTIONs on September 15, 2020, stating that the "investigation" would begin in November. Further details were subsequently released leading up to this start date including designs, background lore, products, and associated event information.

Due to the timing of the announcement, as well as the investigation start date, it is assumed that this was intended to be TSUKIPRO's theme/setting for the 2020 AGF prior to the events rescheduling due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, the concept was used as the theme for TSUKINO's own event, TSUKIPRO Sohonten, taking place the same weekend as the replacement AGF event (AGF AOZORA MARCHÉ).

Synopsis[]

In the not too distant future, people are playing a popular new game called "２P" that lets players do a full body scan to create a replica of themselves to act as an avatar in a VR (virtual reality) world! However, all of a sudden cases start popping up where people are unable to logout from their game, leading to the formation of a special task force to investigate the incidents.

The special agents dispatched by TSUKIPRO Head Office to solve the mystery must travel between the real world and the digital world, and in doing so may discover that the enemy is... themselves?![1]

TEAMs[]

The agents are split into different TEAMs, each comprised of a unit from TSUKINO PRODUCTIONs, with each character having their "Agent name" and their "Avatar name".

Based on the titles, the Agent name will presumably refer to the character assigned to investigate the lockout case, while the Avatar name will be used to address their duplicate created as part of the game. To further differentiate the two names, so far all Agent names have been given in kanji while Avatar names have been in katakana. All Agent names are the first names of the specific character, while the matching Avatar name is usually their surname; the only exceptions so far being the Avatar names for the Kuga & Kiduku brothers.

The individual TEAMs also appear to come together to form joint teams, comprised of their respective series' within the regular TSUKINO universe: SQ, ALIVE & VAZZROCK. Each of these three TEAMs has an associated "Navigate Animal" (ナビゲートアニマル Nabigēto Animaru) with its an "Animal Name" (アニマル名 Animaru Na); these animals take the shape of each series' usual mascot.

Six Gravity & Procellarum[]

The Six Gravity and Procellarum TEAMs join together to form the Six Gravity & Procellarum TEAM. The TEAM has two Navigate Animals that are "Rabbit Type " (兎型 Usagi Kata) with the Animal Names of KURO ＆ SHIRO (クロ＆シロ).

These two appear to be the VAZZROCK dorm pets, Vaz & Rock, in human form.

Trivia[]

  • In the behind the scenes comments from the characters on Twitter it was revealed that one of the suggestions was that the Avatar names be the surnames in reverse (ie. Dai's Avatar name would've been Seramu instead of Murase).[1]
